ABOUT ME

I am an integrative psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, with 30 years experience in private practice.   I received my MSW from NYU and my Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, where I am now on the faculty, am a supervisor, and am Co-Director of Admissions.

I am also trained in the IFS (Internal Family Systems) model, a model of therapy which is highly collaborative in nature and is particularly effective in empowering clients to trust themselves.

I have published a book entitled In the Shadow of Fame, (Viking Penguin 2005) and have written articles on the subject of fame for The Atlantic Monthly, Psychoanalytic Dialogues and  Psychoanalytic Inquiry.  (See my Publications section for more.)   My lectures on this topic and on the connection between childhood trauma and exceptional adult achievement are listed in “Presentations.”
